- The royal family accidentally tweeted and deleted “thanks” on Twitter.
- The tweet was up for 6 minutes before they noticed and took it down.
Today in amusing royal news, the Queen’s official Twitter account hopped online yesterday and accidentally tweeted the word “thanks.” Like, just thanks. Nothing else. No follow-up. No explanation.
The tweet was only up for a few minutes before whoever runs the royal family’s Twitter went ahead and deleted it, but as we know: the internet never forgets. The mysterious tweet was immediately screen grabbed by Gert’s Royals, who revealed it was up for a full 6 minutes, and got 1,260 likes and 591 retweets.

Unfortunately, at this time the royal family hasn’t explained why they felt the need to thank the internet, but in all likelihood this was just the beginning of a draft that accidentally got published. Happens to the best of us! Also, here’s to hoping they accidentally go live on Instagram because we’d truly love to see it.
