If you have any dietary restrictions, shopping for treats can frankly be a pain in the butt. That’s why we love it when any brand makes an effort to clearly label its products for allergies and other nutritional information and that is just another reason why we love Ben & Jerry’s. The brand recently announced that 11 of its flavors will soon be getting the gluten-free certification logo.
Ben & Jerry’s updated their testing protocols to meet the Gluten-Free Certification Organization’s (GFCO) standards for gluten-free foods and now the prayers of its gluten-free fans have been answered. You can expect the following frozen treats to be outfitted with the gluten-free stamp of approval soon:
- Cherry Garcia (in pints and mini cups)
- Cherry Garcia FroYo
- Cherry Garcia Non-Dairy
- Phish Food
- Chunky Monkey
- Vanilla Caramel Fudge
- Karamel Sutra Core
- New York Super Fudge Chunk
- Coffee Coffee BuzzBuzzBuzz
- Pistachio Pistachio
Cherry Garcia ice cream pints were the first flavor to get the stamp, but you’ll see the other flavors roll out with this stamp in the coming months. If you’re gluten-free, make sure that the pint you pick up has this marking on it to make sure it’s safe. Any future flavors that Ben & Jerry’s produces that meet the gluten-free standards will also get gluten-free certification on its packaging. Oh, and if you’re not gluten-free, you should know nothing about these recipes has changed, it’s only the testing protocols that have changed. You can read more about the certification here. Happy scooping!
